What is Academic Coaching?

An Academic Coach supports a student in the development of executive functioning skills and study routines needed to thrive academically.

Ongoing coaching encourages students to become more self-determined, flexible, and resourceful—essential qualities for academic success.

What Happens in a Coaching Session?

The student and coach agree on a focus for the session. Through open-ended questions, and sometimes suggestions from the coach, the student explores ideas and strategies that can improve or enhance their current approach to the session’s focus.

And that’s just the beginning.

Who is Academic Coaching For?

Athletes have coaches; why not students?

A coach is dedicated to help students identify goals, make academic headway, and optimize their educational experience.

Any student who wants to improve an aspect of their academic life can benefit from coaching!
